Jenolan @ Wells Charity House, Harrison

AMC were proud to be part of the design, implementation and sale of this Charity House in Wells Station which raised over $300,000 for three local charities. To attract sponsorship from key suppliers the building design showcased a number of new innovative products and materials in a striking built form. The combination single / two storey dwelling was carefully designed to maximise northern solar access to the internal living areas and outdoor garden areas and to make the most of its prominent corner block position. The dwelling met the requirements of the Adaptable Housing Code and incorporated a number of ESD initiatives including significant water harvesting, passive solar measures including substantial glazing to northern facades and sun shading to the west. The project was seen as a great success by all stakeholders and the wider Canberra community.
