BUILDING REFURBISHMENTS
German Embassy Security Upgrade, Yarralumla
In keeping with today’s strict requirements for security and access control, the Embassy of Germany approached AMC to provide a security upgrade for their premises in Yarralumla, ACT. The project included the provision of a Guard House, incorporating bullet resistant facades; new palisade fencing with automatic sliding gates; security cameras and access control, such that all entrances to the premises can be monitored and controlled from the Guard House, Chancery Reception and the Ambassador’s Residence. Careful consideration was given to the location of the perimeter fence, to avoid the removal of the significant trees that line the Embassy grounds, which was commended by the National Capital Authority. In addition, much attention was given to the design of the Guard House, to ensure it had a contemporary appearance, reflecting a progressive embassy, and complementing the existing streetscape.
