AMC have designed a bulky goods building that accommodates utilitarian functional demands in a striking built form. Accommodating 5 tenancies, the building works with the steep slope across the site to create prominent street frontage at grade to Scollay Street and substantial carparking in an undercroft area accessed from the rear. The original design incorporated a child care centre in the lower level with a prominent frontage off Joseland Street, benefiting from excellent solar access to play areas and adding visual interest to the rear of the building. The articulated form of the building incorporates an attractive palette of colours and industrial cladding materials making an exciting contribution to the built fabric of Tuggeranong.
