Alastair MacCallum – Director
Alastair has always had creative flair and an interest in design which led to him pursuing a degree in Architecture at the University of NSW for which he received honours. After graduating in 1991 Alastair moved to Canberra in the pursuit of employment opportunities and has never looked back. Prior to initiating AMC, Alastair was the Canberra Manager of Woods Bagot from 1997 – 2000 which proved an excellent training ground for the breadth of skills he has and continues to refine.
Alastair’ strengths are his intuition, design skills, communication skills. He has been responsible for innumerable award wining projects with the RAIA, MBA and HIA and was also the recipient of the PCA Young Property Professional of the Year Award in 2000.

David Cook – Director
David has both a degree in architecture and a degree in Construction Management which in itself best describes the breadth of his interests and skill base. David enjoys taking a design concept and then putting a building together being highly cognisant of buildabilty, engineering services, delivery methodologies, appropriate construction documentation, programming and the construction process itself. David studied Architecture at the University of Sydney, working during the holiday periods on construction sites in Canberra which gave him good grounding in construction documentation. After graduating David worked with the Canberra office of Eggleston McDonald for 3 years before he joined Woods Bagot in 1998 where he was Office Practice Manager while delivering a number of significant projects.
David’s strengths are his capacity to rationalise, document and deliver projects. He is highly attuned to servicing his clients requirements.

Dean McPherson – Director
Dean is a highly enthusiastic and committed architect with excellent all-round skills in the design and delivery of a wide range of building projects. Dean graduated from the University of Canberra in 1999 with Honours and has built his career in Canberra. He was a strategic appointment to AMC in 2007 and acts as the Office Practice Manager being responsible for AMC’s quality systems, staff resourcing and training.
Dean’s strengths are broad including his ability to manage the design and sub-consultant team, his ability to document complex large scale projects, his extensive knowledge of ESD principles as an accredited Green Star Professional and the energy he brings to every project he works on.

Kathie MacKay – Project Manager
Kathie joined AMC in 2008 because of the comfortable fit that existed between her broad skills and aspirations as a Project Manager and the sort of architectural practice that AMC strives to be. Kathie is a systematic, highly organised and capable professional who has a passion for servicing clients. She has taken the lead role in a number of complex and highly technical commonwealth projects including project management, brief formulation, client management, user consultation, consultant appointment, tender evaluation, contractor management and defects management. Kathie is a certified Practicing Project Manager and Green Star Accredited Professional. Recent projects include:

Luke Stanton – Senior Interior Designer
Luke Stanton is a talented Interior Designer with significant experience in workplace, retail/hospitality and residential design. He has been responsible for a wide range of government, commercial and institutional projects from conceptual design through to detailed documentation and delivery. Luke has been part of the AMC team from the outset in 2000 however he has also benefited from 3 years in London where he worked on a number of exciting high-profile projects. He has a proven track record of creating striking interior spaces while being cognisant of the commercial imperative.

Bill Neate – Documentation Leader
Bill Neate is one of Canberra most experienced draftsmen with extensive construction knowledge and a proven capacity to document complex buildings. Bill is a highly committed professional with a genuine interest in achieving the best building possible and ensuring the engineering consultant team does the same. He is very interested in the design development process playing an active role in the refinement of design solutions and then preparing comprehensive construction documentation. Previously Bill had worked with Tom Keen Architect for some 14 years on some of Canberra largest projects. Apart from his ability to lead a documentation team Bill also offers mentoring to younger staff with an interest in developing their technical, construction and drafting knowledge.
